Celebrating it's 10th year, Maryvale Angels was created in 2005.
In 2002 a friend asked if I would like to volunteer my time for a Holiday party at a halfway house for young girls. I was excited to get connected with these impressionable young ladies. Their strength and charisma, their willingness to love and be loved even after all they've endured immediately won my heart. Over the next few years I continued to be a part of this unique celebration. My third year at the Maryvale holiday celebration I was informed that the original holiday event leader was leaving and in order for this tradition to continue they needed someone to take over. Although I did not know all of the "behind the scenes details" I did know one thing, this tradition needed to continue. After learning all the intricate details that allowed this celebration to transpire and knowing that the fundraising would be the greatest challenge I was fired up to dive in. With an open mind and an incredible support team I spear-headed this project and have been there every step of it's evolution for the past 10 years. I am extremely proud of my community that has stepped up each year to create the beautiful experience for the girls of Maryvale and I am beyond grateful to be surrounded by so many Angels. 10 years ago a seed was planted. Sprouting from “cookies and punch” and an IPod as the “DJ”, to a “knock your socks off” five star meal donated by Wolfgang Puck Catering and local DJ’s playing jams for this dance party among many other unique ways Angels have shared their gifts has been wonderful. I may be the conductor of this orchestra but I know that none of this would not be possible without each and every ANGEL that spends energy and money to in bringing this celebration to fruition. Thank you, thank you, thank you to ALL of the ANGELS for the past 10 years, it has been an extraordinary experience!

is an extention of Maryvale which is a 501(c) 3 agency founded in 1856 and has been serving children of the Greater Los Angeles area for the past 150 years. It is a licensed home for girls who are placed here through the Department of Children and Family Services. These children have been removed from their homes for child abuse and or neglect, some have just arrived and others have been here for years. This facility provides housing, meals, an education and many opportunities these girls would otherwise not be exposed to.
