Volunteers needed: December 26, 2004 Tsunami Relief
"Hi Phi Phi is a community-based initiative of local Koh Phi Phi residents and non-Thais, working to help the people of Phi Phi rebuild their lives after the Indian Ocean tsunami on December 26, 2004. Islanders and volunteers have worked side by side to clean streets and reefs, repair homes and bring back smiles to Thailand's most beautiful tropical paradise. Although much long-term work remains ahead, Phi Phi is back on its feet and ready for business."
I was blessed with the opportunity of volunteering under this program during my downtime while filming in Thailand. It was a life changing experience that I will cherish forever. If you have the opportunity, even if only for a day, "that's all it takes, but a difference it makes."
